Sa-re-ga-ma of CWG

According to unreliable information the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has devised a new strategy to uncover the truth related to the Commonwealth Games (CWG) corruption case. The agency has decided to organize a singing competition. On the basis of the best song it will prepare its final case for presentation to the court. Four singers have been short listed for the competition – Darbari, Mohindroo, Jayachandran and Kalmadi. The competition has already started.

As yet only one singer has performed. Darbari with his soulful voice rendered his song, naturally, in Raga Darbari. It was a very moving song and the lyric went as follows:

        Why, oh why, oh why,
        Should I ever lie
        To beloved CBI?
If my case it does remove,
        I promise I'll approve,
A song they’ll love to hear,
        Every mystery it will clear,
        Even Kalmadi they won’t fear,
So why, oh why, oh why,
        Can’t beloved CBI,
        To freedom let me fly?

It goes without saying that this song brought tears of emotion to CBI sleuths. Now they await the others to sing. According to punters the hot favourite to win the competition is Kalmadi. But bets are off because it is not yet certain whether Kalmadi will at all sing. He is a very temperamental artist. He is the favourite because of his powerful voice that can create echoes which reverberate from Race Course to Jan Path. Whenever he opens his mouth with his rich voice all kinds of notes come tumbling out. Song writers have already prepared a lyric in case he decides to sing. The following lyric has been prepared. It is to be sung in Raga Maal-Cons.

        You must understand,
        Why I took a hand,
        In choosing AM Cars
        For VIPs and stars,
        I simply had no choice,
        After Master’s Voice
        Through Raju made me feel,
I had to make the deal.
        Who’s Raju’s boss,
        Is info I won’t toss,
        Till you guarantee
        That I’ll too be free!
