Blood On Hands - Flash Fiction
by Ananya S Guha Bookmark and Share

Uncle you have dropped this.

The little girl just left her parents carrying a bag to tell the scooter rider this. The parents looked around. They smiled. They knew the helpful nature of their little daughter.

Suddenly there was a thud, explosion. Screaming, crying, fumes.

'' Uncle'' entered a house. Done it, he told the people- four of  them.

'' How many?'' someone asked.

'' I don't know, but a girl ran after me carrying the bag''.

'' Are you sure the bomb was there, safely planted?''.

'' Of course'' he said. He looked visibly irritated.

'' How old was she?''

'' What does that matter. Seven or eight'' he snapped.

There was silence. '' Tomorrow we will sit and plan for the month after next''.

He could not sleep that night. The girl appeared in his dreams. She looked like an angel. She was telling him.: '' Uncle you have dropped something''.

He woke up sweating, his hands were trembling.

He looked at his hands. There was blood on them.

A voice said. Uncle you have not killed me. It was the bag.
