The  Hari Putar Dialogues – 2
by Rajesh Talwar

(Kolkata – April 20, 2008
David Hussey played a crucial unbeaten knock of 38 to help Kolkata Knight Riders secure a five wicket win over Deccan Chargers in a close Indian Premier League tie marred by a power snag.)

Putar: The Tribune headlines today said that the Knight Riders won once again.

Hari: That’s right, Putar.

Putar: Did they win because Shahrukh Khan is a knight in shining armor?

Hari: I don't know, Putar – but don't forget it was the Australian Hussey who scored the runs.

Putar: It was a White Knight who came to the rescue then?

Hari: I don't know, Putar.

Putar: You remember that there was a thirty one minute power cut.

Hari: That's true, Putar.

Putar: And the winning runs were scored after the power cut.

Hari: That’s also true, Putar.

Putar: Tell me something Papaji?

Hari: Bol, Putar?

Putar: Skipper VVS Laxman was very upset over his team's five wicket loss, wasn't he?

Hari: That’s right, Putar.

Putar: And he blamed the power failure for their defeat…

Hari: Yes, Putar.

Putar: Because it affected the concentration of his players, so he said.

Hari: Yes, Putar.

Putar: Do you think that’s likely?

Hari: I don’t think so, Putar.

Putar: What about the concentration of the Knight Riders?

Hari: That was obviously not affected, Putar

Putar: Is that because they are Night Riders as well?

Hari: I don’t know, Putar.
