The Truthful Me

Life is so twisted,
So emotionally deep,
For my tormented soul,
Inside as I weep,
The burden too heavy to carry afar,
The weaker I get the stronger they are,
A fear of losing my jewels of life.
So close to my heart, so strong is my might,
I'm like a snowflake in a winter storm,
The coldness inside then strongly scorned,
A drop of blood may ease my pain,
Like a single drop in the rain,
My soul's chained down, my life overthrown,
I hold onto my heart but I am alone,
Life is so simple I was often told,
But who's to keep me out of the cold,
I ponder ideas, I think of a way,
To mend my heart of a dreary fate,
My enslaved soul, the longer the wait,
To break the chains to which I am bound,
The echo of worries, the terrible sound,
My life lay to rest,
No more than a frown,
The sweetness of life too strong to take,
My god forsaken soul, my heart may break,
Just leave me here, leave me be,
For inside my soul lies the truthful me.
