Theme : Love
Incomplete Love Story

Pride dictated my attitude
Whilst I yearned for him insistently
Ignoring my presence, was his self esteem
'a twig of snooty clan' is what I had labeled him.
Pulsating beat had pounded with realization
Nothing between us was right, yet it was love at first sight!

I still recollect how weird our first meeting was -
Passions were same, yet dislike for each other was rampant.
No sooner my opinion, I would acknowledge
Without more ado, he would defy it.

'Delicate, dull-witted'...what not he had said
But his radiant eyes interpreted something else.
We knew not how to tackle the situation,
Our attempts always failed to create an impression.

Very often I felt his eyes piercing through
Chill ran down my spine - I didn't know what to do.
'Let us pull the heartstring and forget our ego'
Silently we had prayed yet pretended to be foes.
Rumor spread like fire - that we were in love,
But opposing it fervently, we had said -
'friends we were not, forget about love'!

Years have gone by...we have not met,
I live my own life and he too, perhaps with his mate.
In our trance...we often rendezvous
Smile at each other and reflect -
Destiny has played with us a foul game
And yes, our obtuse ego should also take the blame.
