When you go to bed tonight
take care to remove
the cover

The day has left on it
footprints of unease
like a spider would leave
tangled webs on the ceiling

Sleep deserves a passage
through a clear street -
not clogged
with vehicles of want,
nor flooded with qualms of daylight

Wrapped in the blanket
of a black sky
the stars alone
may lead you through the night.

When you go to bed tonight
think you are a baby
nibbling at the corner
of its pillow -

think of me singing you a lullaby...
