Theme : Memories
Forgotten
by Kristen Caccavale

Some things are remembered
Some for quite a while
Like the first time you said mother
Or that first joyful smile
It will always be remembered
That day you acted rotten
But unfortunately for some things
They are only but forgotten

A day that someone had to die
Their face was one the news
But as the time passes by
They get less and less reviews
For some they are remembered
But for most they are not
And the second they are brought up
You say: "I forgot"

Do you remember the pain
That look in someone's eyes?
And even though you probably forgot it
You too began to cry
And even though you didn't know the reason
You just felt so bad indeed
That you too began to cry with them
Your heart began to bleed

But can't you remember
Any of this?
What about that one December
The twenty-fifth day : Christmas
You got so many, many cool toys
Including a toy robot
A few years later; where is it?
You say: "I forgot"

Do you remember
Your seventh birthday
The eighteenth of November
How could you forget?
What did you get?
A dress made out of cotton
Some months pass by and what is it?
Nothing but forgotten

Could you forget
The first time
You read all by yourself?
It was a small book
Now just lying on the shelf
What was the name of that book again?
Come on, you have to know this one!
Still don't know?
The title has been forgotten

At all times we see things
That we hope we won't forget
But as the time passes by
We can't remember yet
It's ok to forget some things,
Like the smell of tomatoes rotten
But as for other things
They should not be forgotten
