Theme : Perception
Words for a Better World

by
Michael Knott

This time and space
Is all but an illusion,
I wish to accept.

The days change like swirl winds
Sweeping through a glassware display,
The foolish idea of certainty
Is sweet to accept,
But the fragile balance of life is all to obvious
For my instinct to put away.

We are all interconnected
By things we cannot explain or detect,
We are all ruled by similar needs
Motives and beauty unmet.
We are all a part of the whole
And can be seen through the whole or a small part direct,
We all fit together
In some curious strange set.

I can see you through the lines of your face
Or the wife you embrace,
I can see you through the children you love
Or the children you were once at age.
And through the various roles you reflect
I learn about myself in another place,
I learn about my past, my present, my future
And my small place on this great stage.

The travels I have made,
The sacrifices displayed,
And what I have seen about,
All point to me -
That we were made to stop messing in doubt,
And help each other out.
