Theme : Love
Love

by Dr. Manasi Dutt

Love you have shown me your many faces
You have graced me with many graces

Love,
At my birth
You gave me my mother’s unconditional love
Taught me how to receive it
With my baby hands
Flailing in the air
Like the wings of a dove

Love,
In my young adulthood came my first lover
I learnt about sexuality
What is done in the dark under the cover

Love,
My marriage was arranged
I gave myself to my husband
A deep friendship unfolded
A deep love bloomed
That lasted a life-long
Two peas in a pod
Made for each other all along

Love,
Now as I age
I fall in love with my God
So is the wish of the Lord
He is ready to free me
From my mortal cage
So I won’t suffer as I age
To earthly things you don’t tether
A life awaits you in heaven way brighter
Dear God I’m in love with you with my heart and soul
Let me finish my earthly toll
Then I shall be in heaven
That’s my only goal

Love,
You are always around me
In umpteen shapes, in variable forms
Sheltering me from many life-storms

Love,
So are your many faces
That has graced me with many graces
