I wish I could run away,
Away from these miseries of mine,
I wish I could fly away,
To a world where happiness would shine.

I wish I could see before me,
A brighter tomorrow,
No bonds, nor hail of tears,
No hatred to bring sorrow.

What pleasures bring you these sorrows?
What joys in other's pains?
We dream of a bright tomorrow,
Just to see that we are captives again.
