Question 1080
Dear Sir, I am living in Town home which slightly faced towards southeast close to southeast and I noticed that my kitchen (Stove) placed at northeast (while cooking we face north east). I was going through Vastu details and found that this is not good sign... and I think this might be true, because i have no peace of mind, no saving etc., As I can not make any structural changes, I would like to if there is any remedy to fix this problem. Thanks
– Vinod, December 08, 2006

If the house is rotated to the Southeast and the main entrance is on the East side, this is not Vastu compliant. Also, NE kitchen is not compliant. BUT, you house is probably not compliant in any other way so it is very difficult to give instructions on how to achieve it. It may not be the house that effects your life. I would hesitate to say it is the house. Your thoughts are powerful. Bless the house, be grateful for a roof over your head. Look inside yourself, not your house, for a remedy to your worldly challenges. – Michael Borden, December 10, 2006

Question 1079
My house entrance is facing at south-west. kindly let me know the effects and remedies of same.
– Satish Sharma, December 07, 2006

If a door is at the southwest corner it is not life supporting. But there are many factors that may cause the negative effect to be less. This must be reviewed by a Vastu architect in a professional consultation. If the door faces the SW, meaning the house is rotated and facing that direction, then, it is very difficult for remedy or prediction on effects. It is not advised in terms of orientation. – Michael Borden, December 10, 2006

Question1078
Are churches made out with Vastu directions?
– Irosha Ranaweera, December 07, 2006

Yes, Churches, like temples, can be greatly blessed by application of Vastu principles. – Michael Borden, December 10, 2006

Question 1077
What should be the color of the gate of a flat which is north facing?
– Raman Ahuja, December 01, 2006

Any pleasant color that appeals to your eye. Light yellow, green, blue is accepted in Vastu. – Michael Borden, December 10, 2006

Question 1076
Respected sir, Can you please suggest if we can extend our bedroom situated in north-west (by taking little towards north) when compared to the rest of our house....? The extension of bedroom leads to L shaped extension compared to rest of the house, as there 6 ft space in the whole north portion of the plot.
– Shilpa, KV, December 01, 2006

Any time you make a renovation of the house, you must treat the house as a living being. You will be performing surgery on the house. All respect must be given to the structure. In terms of Vastu, an extension on that nature does not add any value. – Michael Borden, December 10, 2006
