Question 1085
Where should be the place of wash basin and sink in the house? Where should be the temple? How we can stop wasting money and improve health and prosperity?
– Madhu Sharma, December 10, 2006

Wash basin should keep out of corners of the house. Temple in north east is advised. If you want Vastu benefits, you must commit to building a fully compliant Vastu structure to live in. That's all. – Michael Borden, January 7, 2007

Question 1084
what should be the direction of the main door for a house, when viewed from inside of a house? And also the direction of the gate of the building?
– Asha Hahiharan, December 10, 2006

Location of door, as well as direction, needs to be considered. East facing: physical comfort, mental peace. West facing: Material prosperity (big numbers). North facing: Money. South facing: salvation, redemption, away from earthly desires. All have benefits. (Better for householders to choose east, north or west) – Michael Borden, January 7, 2007

Question 1083
Hi, I have rented an 1 bedroom apartment on 1st floor of a Govt. owned bldg. My bedroom has two huge French windows one on the eat and other on the south. From the south windows of my bedroom and living room/drawing room one can see the swimming pool (which is on the ground floor in South direction). What are the remedies I can adopt to overcome the ill effects if any? Thanks in advance for your valuable advice.
– Naveen, December 10, 2006

It very important that all the Vastu enthusiasts understand that one element, like a pool, has very little to do with the overall mandates and goals of Vastu Science. You are living in a flat in a large complex. The chances that the building has any benefit in terms of Vastu principles is nil. There is no need to worry about the pool. The best remedy for all conditions is to generate great gratitude to the Divine Will that you have a roof over your head, are reasonably well fed and have freedom of thought and expression in your life! – Michael Borden, January 7, 2007

Question 1082
A farm house having the following features: Water flowing in a stream from south to north; Entry gate at west; house facing east; bore well in north; open well in east. Whether this is acceptable as per Vastu or any thing to be changed?
– P. Kishore Kumar, December 10, 2006

Without reviewing the plot and house in detail, it is difficult to comment in a scientific way. Direction of stream flow is ok, but more information is needed about size and location of stream in relationship to the plot and the house. Entry gate on west is ok, IF it is located in an auspicious position with regard to the overall plot. House facing east is good for "all good benefits" , but your east entry door must be properly located or the benefits may be compromised. Bore hole in north: need exact location to house, but in general it is ok. Open well to east: should not be directly in front of entry door, but, need exact location to house, in general it is ok. Exact orientation, layout of the house walls and rooms also need careful inspection. – Michael Borden, January 7, 2007

Question 1081
I have bought a house that is South facing. Do that have any bad impact, if yes, what would be the remedies.
– Swapnil Adhau, December 8, 2006

South facing house is for "freedom from worldly desires". However, the entry door needs to be properly located. It definitely should not be in the center. It must be carefully reviewed in a Vastu consultation. – Michael Borden, January 7, 2007
