Question 1110
(1) Site in size of 30x40, joint north. Can we then have the
main door on the N.W.? (2) Can the main building touch the
boundary wall on the S.W. side? (3) Can the 1st, floor home
have extension on the west side.
– Nagesh, February 24, 2007
Main door
should be in CENTER north. Better to have some space between you
house and the compound wall. Extension on west may be allowed, but
would need to be reviewed by an expert Vastu consultant. – Michael Borden,

Question 1109
My house is facing south. Main door is in southwest corner.
Bathroom (not toilet) is in northeast corner, particularly
washbasin is placed in northeast corner. Is it good or not?
If not what is the remedy?
– Priya, February 13, 2007
South
facing house influence is "freedom from worldly desires", but this
applies to only a true Vastu designed structure. Door in SW is not
correct, washing in NE is not correct. It is very difficult to
remedy existing conditions. Vastu does not recommend remedies as the
highest choice for solution. There is not predictable result in the
remedy usually. – Michael Borden,

Question 1107
We are constructing a house in a east facing plot. The
stairs start from the north east corner (internal stairs are
also in the north east corner). Any advice on this.
– Bharthi, February 4, 2007
Stair in
NE are not advised in a Vastu residence, but if they house doesn't
follow any other Vastu rules then it would not matter. Stairs should
not fall on the diagonal lines between corners or in the middle. – Michael Borden,

Question 1106
Hi, I am 26 married and living with my husband for some time
in a rented house out of my own country. My bedroom is in
north east and is the only bedroom in house. We are planning
for baby so please suggest some solution ASAP. Thanks in
advance.
– Neha Goel, February 3, 2007
NE is
primarily for elderly individuals or brahmachari. Sleep with top of
head to south or east in SW area of the room. That's the best this
situation has to offer. Don't worry – Michael Borden,
