Held in Purity
The crystalline ripples said much to my heart
Yearned for me to submerge myself in them
I desired their unselfish grasp
I was held in purity.
The waters did not speak to me with words,
but spoke volumes with their wave of touch.
No one else embraces you closer.
I was held in purity.
A stream of water wandered my hand,
Tracing a path of its own choosing.
I observed how it lingered and then as it dropped,
contemplating where it would land.
I marveled at the simplicity it showcased.
I was held in purity,
Purity that understood me.
My eyes relaxingly closed
as I soaked in the cleansing river.
I was at one with the calm, still waters
as they flowed beyond my worries and strife.
I was held in purity,
Purity that knew me.
The sunlight reflected off the water's skin...
I felt warm and comforted.
I smiled and laughed within.
The purity was now in me.
The water's ripples stilled
and in them I saw myself.
You see,
the water and I were not altogether different.
We both became still enough to see things clearly.
So this is the reason my heart cries out:
"Come once again to me, crystalline flow."
So that I may focus myself in your eyes.
