Spring in a Man's Heart
The bee waited in anticipation
its turn to dive into the nectar
My eyes waited in expectation
to savor the treat that awaited me.
The plant started its preparation
to spread its progeny
The sky changed its color
as though to indicate a change
to a time when nature celebrates
its youth every year.
It made me reflect for a moment
on the current state of affairs
When nature showed its wrath
as souls lost all they owned in a blood bath
now Nature seems to be showing us
colors of a different kind
How could I appreciate the colors
& smells of the season
when my mind is full of
stench of human bodies dead
and color of their blood.
The season came and went
the ones who appreciated it
cherished it every single moment
for some like me it was hidden
with thoughts of apathy
A thought touched me deep that said
"Spring is in the heart of the man"
