The Gift of Bliss ...
by Joy A. Burki-Watson
First-class, an ocean’s
opulent alms,
A God-given gift for a wide awake dream
Yet a thousand words could never calm
The energy birthed from this reticent scene.
Vast are the arms that encompass the sea,
While they urge restless waves to greet the shore
Yet vaster still a real smile, duty-free
And a woman’s arms spread to meet a boy.
Innocent eagerness feeds his young limbs,
As he rushes forth, to participate
In seconds, a memory for future hymns
And an equal exchange of give and take…
Assured that true love must resemble this -
Who wouldn’t run with a child-like bliss?
