Advani-Sonia Partnership Revealed!

Politicians can sometimes be unbelievably silly. And the silliest thought they often indulge in is to assume that the public is as silly as they are. Mr LK Advani and Mrs Sonia Gandhi have just exhibited this trait. Mr Advani echoing his party leading its spurious cosmetic campaign against black money abroad had charged Mrs Gandhi for having a foreign bank account. Now Mr Advani has publicly retracted his charge. He has done this on account of a private letter written to him by Mrs Gandhi assuring him that she had no foreign bank account. That convinced Mr Advani about his error and he has apologized. What touching faith between the two most senior leaders respectively of the Congress and the BJP. Is this the prelude to an openly declared partnership between them? One hopes so. The quicker the charade of phony opposition ends the better!

On August 15, 2006 it was reported in these columns: “Dr. Yevgeniya Albats is a Soviet journalist who was appointed as member of the official KGB Commission set up by President Yeltsin in 1991. She had full access to secret files of the KGB. She authored a book, 'The State within a State: KGB and Its Hold on Russia'. Dr. Albats disclosed in her book that KGB chief Victor Chebrikov in December 1985 had sought in writing from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), 'authorization to make payments in US dollars to the family members of Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, namely Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Ms Paola Maino, mother of Sonia Gandhi.' CPSU payments were authorized by a resolution, CPSU/CC/No 11228/3 dated December 20, 1985; and endorsed by the USSR Council of Ministers in Directive No. 2633/Rs dated December 12, 1985. These payments had been coming since 1971, as payments received by Sonia Gandhi's family, and 'have been audited in CPSU/CC resolution No. 11187/22 OP dated October 12, 1984.'”

“In 1992 the media confronted the Russian government with the Albats disclosure. The Russian government confirmed the veracity of the disclosure and defended it as necessary for 'Soviet ideological interest'. The Hindu of July 4, 1992 carried this report. In November 1991 the respected Swiss magazine, Schweitzer Illustrate, published a report alleging that Rajiv Gandhi had 2.5 billion Swiss francs, equivalent roughly to two billion US dollars, in numbered Swiss bank accounts.”

On November 18 2006 it was again written in these columns: “Until now there has been only deafening silence from Mrs. Gandhi and the Congress party. If the Albats allegation published in a reputed research book is false, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi should promptly deny it. Otherwise, her silence could be perceived as assent.”

For the last four years Mrs Gandhi, the Congress Party and the UPA government have remained silent. No court case for libel and defamation has been entered against either the Swiss newspaper or Yevegenia Albats who is a renowned journalist and former official member of the Soviet government’s KGB Commission. The Internet and the international media are full of Sonia Gandhi’s alleged foreign bank account. The world is talking about the alleged corruption of India’s top leader. And this finally has been countered by a private letter written by Sonia Gandhi to LK Advani! And our most experienced and senior opposition leader has bought this as a satisfactory explanation!

Should one laugh or cry?

Comment Despite all such widespread reports on net, yet Sonia Gandhi remains untouchable speaks volumes of her high powered protectorate.

Comment Both Congress & BJP are slaves to MOSSAD & CIA so I am not surprised to see Advani praising Sonia.
In Nov 2009 India's army chief General Deepak Kapoor visited Israel to complete $2.3 billion deal to purchase upgraded tactical air defense system, Barak–8 which is expected to be delivered to India by 2017. Kapoor rather than using his brain may be was enjoying Israeli hospitality of sex, wine or big money in his accounts or favor to his unqualified adult children with decent jobs in India or abroad or may be a promise of plum job for himself with Indian gov. or Israeli/American armament company after his retirement from the present job.
BOTH ADVANI & SONIA HAD NO COMMENTS ON THIS DEAL.
This is the advanced version of Barack missiles purchased by BJP's Defense Minister George Fernandez that became a national scandal that Sonia's Congress refused to investigate.
Tehlka in 2001 in a sting operation alleged that 15 defense deals made by the government had involved big kick backs the Barak missile deal was one of them. Barak missiles become more controversial how the deal was opposed and how the bribes worked. Twice the Bajpai’s Defense Minister George Fernandez over ruled the objections of Defense Advisor A. P. J. Kalam who wrote "Look, we are developing our Prithvi/Trishul missiles, according to me, the Prithvi should be...or Trishul should be set up on our naval ships. There is no point of buying this imported system Barak."

Eventually the DRDO project Prithvi/Trishul mysteriously declared technology demonstrator by Zionist Christian Sonia Gandhi’s UPA government as it did not meet some critical parameters. Two hundred scientists, Rs. 400 crores and 21 years later; Trishul remains a Technology Demonstrator! That's the official designation was given by UPA's Pranab Mukherjee to Pro Zionist Parliament & main opposition Zionised BJP in Aug. 2006. This proves again that in India politicians, defense top brass, bureaucrats and business houses close to them will kill any indigenous research which does not have a scope of 30-40% kick backs for them and does not suits Israel.
SINCE AMERICA IS AN ISRAELI COLONY I DON'T FEEL I HAVE TO GIVE ANY EXAMPLE OF US INFLUENCE ON INDIA. In USA their domestic, foreign, trade, commerce and culrural policies are made in Telaviv

Comment You are right, as usual!
Don't know what Advani is up to!

Comment Seadog, you've missed the point. Regret or apology is irrelevant. The point is that Advani readily accepted Sonia Gandhi's version and closed the chapter. In the light of the evidence that is a ridiculous and seemingly motivated decision. Gurumurthy and the task force quite rightly have rubbished Sonia Gandhi's denial. Why does she not sue Yevgenia Albats or the Swiss paper? You think Albats lacks credibility given her official position in the KGB Commission? You think the Soviet government could lightly inform media about the veracity of her allegations? You think The Hindu is an irresponsible paper to have reported the Soviet press conference? Get real. Loyalty that overlooks uncomfortable truth is more harmful than opposition. It silently corrodes the system from within.

Text of Advani's Letter - Rediff
feb 18th, 2011 CE

this doesn't sound like an apology to me. in fact, he's telling sonia she should have spoken up earlier.

regret is not the same as apologizing.

for instance, you might regret that the dynasty is in power in india.

but that isn't the same as apologizing to the world at large for this perversion of democracy.

The text of Advani's 'regret' letter to Sonia Gandhi

February 18, 2011 19:01 IST

Bharatiya Janata Party veteran Lal Krishna Advani's letter of regret to Congress president Sonia over naming her family in the party task force's report on illegal Swiss bank accounts has created a sort of crisis within the BJP.
This is the text of Advani's letter to Sonia Gandhi, dated February 16:

Dear Smt Soniaji,

On my return from Kolkata last night, I found your letter dated 15th February awaiting me.

I am happy that you have denied the reports relating to you and your family alluded to in the Task Force's Report on Black Money.

If these had been denied earlier, the Task Force would have taken your denial into account. Even so, I deeply regret the distress caused to you.

With best regards,

Yours sincerely,

L K Advani

Comment Advani's apology is really disappointing. We saw on the news-ticker yesterday that Jethmalani who is a member of the BJP group that prepared the report on money stashed away in Swiss Banks stands by his allegation. First, if the Group has made allegations without having access to any evidence then they also should clarify and second why did Advani trust Sonia's word against his own party-men so quickly?

Comment I also believe similar to "Quid pro quo" mentioned by 'TagoreBlog' in comment below.

Why only this instance ? In fact, when NDA was in power, one hoped that Bofors case would come to an end. But it did not happen. Certainly, there was no gain for NDA not to get Gandhi family nailed.

But it happened, the bofors case was not resolved in 6 years of NDA rule. At least I believe that there was something - either FEAR or FAVOUR that prevented the Gandhi faily to be nailed down in bofors case.
