There are so many things to do in New York! Me, my wife and my daughter had gone to see an Opera in Manhattan in New Year. My daughter had parked the car a little far away as parking around the auditorium was around $35 to 50$. When the show finished at around 10 pm, we could not get a Taxi. A couple of these cycle rickshaw were waiting around. Though small for three of us, we thought of giving a Try. Without asking for the fare,we bumped in.

We enjoyed the ride, in a conveyance, which is considered down market in India.

The ride ended. When ride ended, the operator said it would cost us $75. We were surprised but he said that this was the standard fare. We argued that it was only a distance of 2 miles. He maintained that he would have nothing less and that too in cash. Incidentally I had cash, though generally people carry only credit cards. I paid him $70, after getting a discount of $5. Sometimes simple things in big cities cost more. We felt little awkard but we enjoyed. Even on searching we cannot get such an enjoyable ride .Don't our pictures show that., though these visages are before making the payment.
