Recently concluded BJPs national executive meeting has seen never ending phenomena of bogging down people of the nation in a sense, we saw inter-necine wars amongst top leadership and party cadres. UPA-II in state of coma we can very well understand state of politics in India.

Idea of Modi to have an open clash with Advani, Sushma Swaraj may not bode well for him, as he needs to badly inculcate the habit of taking each and every person along with him in order to fulfill his Prime ministerial ambitions. Modi ambitions to become PM in 2014 may be futile unless he washes off his sins for 2002 Gujarat riots cases which may not happen in the near future.

In all this, BJP has missed the bus once again to gherao Congress led UPA government on rising prices, falling rupee and declining economic growth figures, stagnant industrial production, declining foreign investments and falling share market. As a principal opposition party BJP could not have asked for more, still they keep missing the bus,

If they continue to fight within themselves or with RSS cadres, vote banks will not come together to vote for them in 2014 polls and ultimately, Congress or regional parties will emerge as winner in fractured politics.

The state of politics in India seems to be in stagnation and has reached a level, wherein compulsions of coalition politics are used as an excuse by the ruling combine to pin the blame for second generation of economic reforms. This brings us to a pertinent question; Does Politics influence economics? At least it does in a multivariate country like India.

Much touted policy paralysis argument put forth by corporate India was rebuffed recently by PM Manmohan Singh during release of annual UPA-II report card in New Delhi. In the report, the PM highlighted India’s high economic growth and singled out Maoist and corruption as major problems.

To quote from New York Times, ‘echoing Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi stressed on the need for transparent and accountable politics. With an eye on the 2014 elections, Gandhi said the government will have to pursue inclusive economic growth to ensure more spending on social welfare programmes and asked the UPA combine to shun smugness and despondency.’ PM says there is no smugness and despondency and UPA Chairperson contradicts it. Really ironical, but this happens only in India.

State of politics has gone to an all time low, with non-Congress governments, coalition partners in order to extract maximum flesh from the Centre continue to block key economic regulations which are harming the economic climate and tarnishing public image of Incredible India across the world.

Investors are having a thought before they invest in India due to archaic laws which detest them for further investment, with Eurozone crisis continuing to cast its shadow this year, coming months do not look much brighter for India either.
