To All Elected MPs & MLAs
Dear All,
You must be watching the situation in Assam, and its after effects.What are do you doing about it instead of simply blaming each other and the Government? Do you realize what the exodus of people from other parts of the country, in a panic stricken manner implies? Don't you know that this makes them feel unwanted in their own country? What will you do to assuage their fears, restore a sense of security in their minds, so that they can go back to the places of their study or work, in a secure manner?
Can you think of a concrete strategy in this regard? Can you rise above your party differences, and stop for once playing this rigmarole of the cat and mouse, musical chairs of the blame game?
We have had enough of this rhapsody. Will you tell us in categorical manner, what exactly happened in Assam, and what was the root cause of the trouble, which is not abating, and spreading to lower Assam as well.
What is the exact number of illegal immigrants in Assam, and other states of North East India? To what extent has the demography changed? Is it true that the decadal growth of population in Assam, is less than the rest of the country, as some of you and some journalists claim? Please give us exact figures in this regard.
A lot of gibberish is being written, without founded facts and figures. What policy have you thought of rehabilitating the displaced people and bringing them back to their camps, because they are living in inhabitable conditions. Are you visiting these camps? What measures are being taken by the Government, to attend to the sick, especially the children and infants? Is there round the clock vigil, for health and safety?
Next,what are you going to do with the problem of illegal immigrants? It is true that since they are human beings, you cannot dispose them bag and baggage, that is inhuman and anti humanist; what measures are you contemplating to identify citizenship, and issue work permits, voting rights and identity cards?
Will you for once stop bringing them to fatten your vote banks?
Fourthly do you really believe that North East India is one singular whole, and all the problems of the Region, are one and the same? If not why are you always, always, encouraging this kind of unwarranted separatism? Do you think that by simply raising the Muslim bogey, and blaming a neighbouring country the people of India will be satisfied?
There are Indian Muslims, who are Indians to the core, do you know this or not?
Have you forgotten the demolition of the Babri Masjid? Can you tell us who did it? And as for illegal migrants, are not there Hindus as well?
I as an ordinary citizen of this great country request you to answer these questions, because YOU by virtue of the Constitution of INDIA that you represent, have given me the indubitable freedom of expression and speech.

These questions should be answered by the Govt of India and not by the people or press. Illegal crossing over has been on since years atleast since the partition and since the creation of Bangladesh. Why the Govt of India is silent on this issue because the outsiders form a definite vote bank for the ruling party. Yes in the same vein can you tell who started the Mumbai blasts and why is the case not settled yet. It is easy to be writing from afar and sermonising. (For your information I have lived in NE and been a spectator to Mumbai blast) |
