Past, Present and Future

What is Time? Is it an eternal engagement of creation and destruction or an irreversible all-encompassing blanket of nothingness? The answer says probably both at the same time.

Our Past, Present and Future flow into one another and add enriching layers to our lives in endless ways.

The Past urges us to reflect on our actions, in the light of those of others, learning from mistakes. It makes us understand the swirl of circumstances and tells us how to come to terms with the challenges and suffering affecting the lives of our near and dear ones.

Swami Vivekananda summarises the thought as follows:

“We are responsible for what we are, and whatever we wish ourselves to be, we have the power to make ourselves. If what we are now has been the result of our own past actions, it certainly follows that whatever we wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions; so we have to know how to act”

Standing in the middle of the vast expanse is our Present folding in lessons from the Past and holding up perceptive visions of the future. The Present teaches us to live in the moment, accept the situations destiny brings for us, nudging us to be rational in the way we approach problems tangled within the dynamic coil spinning past the world around us.

Future offers an enduring promise in the essence of its very definition.  By virtue of its inherent mystique, it inspires the individual allowing him/her to imagine a lyrical space unfolding little joys along with a peaceful life for everyone. It renders a purpose to our actions, a meaning to our behaviour by making out objectives to be fulfilled within a specific time-frame.

However, for a sincere Seeker, Time contracts into a whiff of moments. Guided by the light of knowledge, devotion and courage, it wouldn’t be too difficult for each one of us to steer clear from wrong decisions and choose the correct ends and their means thereof.
