Memoirs

Teachers, Students and Me

In 1959, when I went to stand in the top row (3rd from Left) I never thought, not even in the wildest dreams, that I would examine this picture and browse through it in 2013 in a country far away from Ahmedabad.  St. Xaviers Loyolla Hall was one of the top school of Ahmedabad of those days and I was part of this Class XII in 1959.  53 Years is a long long time and much much water has flown down the Sabarmati which now has lovely water front. Loyolla was in the wilderness those days, far from the inhabited areas of Ahmedabad. It was rural Ahmedabad to be precise.

Out of the 65 odd students pictured here, I am in touch with just three of them. Out of dozen of Catholic Fathers, Teachers and staff smiling here, perhaps all of them have gone nearer to God. This picture would remain a part of my Life history. A cherished chapter.
