Chugga Chugga Choo Choo Meets Robocar
It was a bright sunny morning in Toot Toot station. Chugga was the first one to arrive at the station. He was very excited; he was to take a group of school children for a joy ride around Toot Toot station, when suddenly he saw a car speeding down the tracks. “Oh My! What speed, he’s faster than Number 40!” exclaimed Chugga.
He then whistled loud, “All Aboard” and chugged away when he saw the car again. This time Chugga was sure the car was flying. He rolled his eyes with wonder, “What is that, it’s a car, no….it’s a plane..!” and screeched to a halt. The children in the coach were startled with the sudden brake. Some of them even fell off their seat. They were angry. “What is the matter? Why did you stop all of a sudden?” Chugga Chugga Choo Choo apologized and said, ‘Uh Huh, am sorry, I …I saw a monster.” “A what...? You must be crazy. There is no such thing as a monster, Chugga,” said one kid.
Chugg… Chugg…puffed on Chugga. He forgot about the monster and told children stories about Toot Toot.
Later that evening Chugga was going back to the yard. He was tired, he had had an unusual day. He stopped at the signal when he saw Cementy huffing and puffing but he wasn’t moving. “What happened, Cementy?” “Oh, Chugga, my wheels are stuck, I can’t move.” When suddenly the monster swooped down on them. “No….”cried Chugga and closed his eyes. When he opened his eyes, he saw the monster oiling Cementy’s wheels.
The monster had a shiny red colour which looked as if he was wearing a bright red spacesuit. His eyes were sparkling gold. He tapped Cementy’s wheels from all sides and said, “There you go. Now you can go ahead.”
Chugga Chugga Choo Choo gasped, “Who, who are you?” “The monster smiled, “I am Robocar, the new mechanic and you must be Chugga Chugga Choo Choo aka Chugga”. “Huh, how do you know my name? Are you a spy?” “Hahaha”, laughed Robocar. “No, am just a Robocar. You see am programmed in such a way that I have the names of all the engines and the entire map of Toot Toot.” He pulled out a monitor, that looked like a giant TV screen and said,” See, you can check for yourself. This gives me details if there is anyone in trouble.” “Wow!” exclaimed Chugga, “Toot Toot looks nice on TV! Hey, look, I can see Creaky in Muddy Waters. And there is Fire truck.”
“Come let’s go explore around Toot Toot,” said Robocar. “Yes, yes,” said Chugga excitedly, “We can use your map, if we get lost.” “Hahahaha”, laughed Robocar, “We sure can.”
Chugga Chugga Choo Choo was very happy; he had made a new friend.
