Subhash Chandra Bose, affectionately known as “Netaji”, was born on 23rd January, 1897 in Cuttack, Odisha. And he was deeply moved by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. So, after completing his graduation he started his career in the Civil services. He was one of the prominent leaders of Indian freedom struggle and fought against the Britishers. He also established Indian National Army to overthrow british Empire. Netaji’s famous motto was- “Give me blood and I will give you freedom.” The defeat in the Second World War of Japan and Germany forced Netaji to retreat the Indian National Army. He was reportedly killed in an air crash over Taipei on August 18,1945.
