Religion and God are different from fanatics. Not only religion, ideologies too make people fanatic. We know the genocides caused by Hitler, Former Communist rulers, in Bangladesh, and many where religion has played no part.

It is in human nature to become fanatic - religion, region, caste, community, language, ideology, sub-natiinality, nationalism, are mere pretexts. Humans are capable of becoming fanatic even for no reason.

We don't need God to exist. Yes. So we need not blame God who doesn't exist for the calamities we are facing and experiencing. There is no reality in blaming an Absent Entity.
