My Memorable Cruises

Seeing sheets of water is an amazing and awesome experience. I am not referring to the sheets of water making lives miserable for Chennai and Tamil Nadu population now due to excess rains.

The perennial rivers, fully brimming lakes free flowing or still water with mild ripples are interesting and exciting sights.

My first cruise experience was in Dal Lake, Srinagar, Kashmir (thanks to Haribabu). I have enjoyed the experiences of traveling in the boat through the limpid waters of Yercaud Lake, brimming Mandovi river in Goa in the company of Guruprasath. Every experience was enjoyable in its own way. The serene one was when I travelled in the Yercaud Lake. My solitary Ganges river trip at Varanasi was quite exceptional as it was for nearly an hour crossing various ghats and above all, the watching of the famous Ganga Aarti from the boat. The journey from Ernakulam to Fort Kochi by jetty in the Arabian Sea was a nice one. So was a fairly long boat journey through the lush backwaters of Kottayam to some place before Kochi once with Murali of BPCL.

Yes. I was also fortunate enough to travel through the waters outside India too. My travel to Ellis Island from New York to see Statue of Liberty in the US (Thanks to Venu, my student), Canal cruise in Amsterdam, Seine River trip in Paris, sail in Lake Zurich in Switzerland, (Thanks to Kiran, my student), Singapore River Cruise in Clark Quay and the exciting river and sea voyages in Thailand (Thanks to my friend Sriram) were all still green in my memories.

Yes. All are memorable cruises!
