Hormones are the body's chemical messengers. They affect the rate of metabolism, sleep, and appetite, keeping you hale and hearty in the long run of life. Following are the main hormones tuning life to continue normally.
1. Hormone Leptin:
It controls hunger and the feeling of satiety. A rise in this hormone results in high blood pressure, obesity and stroke.
2. Cortisol:
It is also known as the stress hormone. It also leads to the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and it becomes difficult to control body weight.
3. Insulin:
Its resistance may also be attributed to lack of exercise and excessive consumption of alcohol.
4. Hormone Irisin:
This newly discovered hormone produced by muscle tissue, is released during exercise. It also helps in reducing insulin resistance.
5. Serotonin:
It calms down the senses, and also is a natural appetite suppressant.
A balance among these hormones is responsible for a healthy life.
