Woman

Born of and from woman
Man engages and marries woman
Friendship too is only with woman
With her he sets the cycle of life
Next is yet woman if the first may die 
She, who is the basis of home and family
Why, then is she maligned
The one who gives birth to kings
And also begets woman!
Without her there is nothing.
 Beyond her
O Nanak
Only God is true.
Blessed is her devotional speech
Blessed and Lucky is she
O Nanak
Those are the clean faces
in the court of God.
