Death of a nation
Pragmatic politics for survival's sake
Cannot from any sinner a saint make.
Patronage, money, coercion or fate
Won't make Pakistan a civil state.
Born of betrayal, bigotry and blame,
Sustained by infamy without shame,
Tied loosely by mere fanatic strain,
Accursed by the mortal sin of Cain.
A blemish on the record of history,
A terrorist plague and a mystery,
A defacement of this good earth,
A farcical tragic object of mirth.
Fated to perish by its own keystone,
Destined for demise without a moan,
By folly, ignorance and sheer vanity,
Or its own lack of basic humanity.
