Workshop # 2
Workshop # 2I ain't the Juggernaut of Puri
glorious lord of the universe
the wheels of whose mighty chariot
roared thunders in skies
created tremors in lands
spun tidal waves in seas
crushing sins of his people
each year, they say
I ain't his favorite devotee either
for I knew not how to sing lullabies
or wake-up songs to the lord
Nor I knew the select Vedic mantras
that could do the trick, perhaps
I am your beloved grandpa
Master of a twin wheeled cart
And you are my pride grandchild
Who would soon inherit my art
I knew that life was safe
on these remote rocky roads
where I lived my life
As I found no evil
ever dared to face the struggles
that are abundant here
I gathered many lessons in life
But you are too young to learn them
With each heartbeat of mine
I become too old to teach you
I know I can't halt time's wheels
So I stopped my cart instead
Holding you close to my heart
In search of the right hour
to pass you the baton and
set you on course of a relay
A marathon called 'life'
I know the dawn is yet to begin
But I know a night ends for must.
