Foxglove (Digitalis Purpurea) is a striking addition to any garden that attracts Bees.  Digitalis or foxgloves look best behind the back of a bed. Rising Tall and majestic, these flowers in the shape of "Bells" are a treat to watch.  Foxgloves flower from May to August and then seed prolifically, each plant producing a staggering one to two million seeds that become food for various creatures.

The individual flowers are small like a finger...the Latin name digitalis virtually means finger.
This, however, is a toxic plant and is used in modern medicine for heart conditions, being the plant from which Digitalin is extracted for treating heart disease.
