You bring the child in me
rushing to the surface,
with arms wide open
like angel wings.
Sea shells wash ashore---
little gifts from the sea pepper the beach.
We bask and play, toes sprinkled
with sand. Together we discover delight
in life's innocence.
Your laughter beguiles
like the whirlwind wild
of the cobalt waters,
wraps me in a wreath of joy
everytime I look at you,
everytime you smile.
We are like the breeze
entwined in laced foam
upon the sea, dancing on crests
in poetic motion to the rhythm
of the rising waves.
Your eyes sparkle
like deepened emeralds.
You give me reason
as my heart swells and rises,
to see, embrace another day.
