The language Shrimati Mamata Banerjee is making in her election speeches and in other occassions is making me ashamed as I am a Bengali living outside Bengal and always look forward to Bengal's glory and get distressed when Bengal is distressed. Late Khushwant Singh once wrote in an article Bengalis are schizophrenic. Mamata Banerjee proves that. I was aghast when hatred for communists brought Mamata Banerjee to power. The only good thing that has happened in Mamata Banerjee becoming Chief Minister is that politics of Bandh, strike, trade unianist hooliganism hves stopped.
But the point I want to make is that how can Mamata call Shri Narendra Modi "murderer", "shaitan" just because a riot took place in Gujarat in the first five years of his Chief Ministership? On the same count, just because Bengal is going through a phase of rape since she came to power, will anyone call Mamata Banerjee "rapist"? Absurd, isn't it? Mamata Banerjee should learn to be respectable towards others. Since she has become Chief Minister, she has put all apolitical gentleman Bengalis to shame. She is proving to be the worst Chief Minister of any state of India, worse than Mayawati and Mulayam. Even Uma is better than her. Being a Bengali, I question wisdom of Bengalis that they could imagine that she could be a good political leader. Is it because she is an apt product of a Chalbe Naa culture? It speaks very bad of the Bengalis. I wonder when will Bengal get back its pride of place amomgst the Indian state. Till then I shall curse myself even if I am a Bengali living outside Bengal.
