Avoidable Hindi controversy

Narendra Modi's Government could avoid the official language controversy. Narsimha Rao seriously introduced use of Hindi when he was Prime Minister. As a result there areevery year Hindi Week, Hindi Fortnight and sometimes Hindi Month(!), which is a big waste of time and money and a lot of officrs in Central Government offices get undue importance removed from the actual work. In fact it has done a lot of damage to activity proper in Central Government Offices and Institutes.
English is no longer the language of the English people. It is a language of many countries. No Indian language can match English. How much original knowledge has been documentated in Hindi and for that matter any Indian language? Let Mr Modi have no false impression about Hindi or any Indian language. All Indian languages are regional languages and compared to English very little original knowlege are documentated in them. Let us admit facts. Mr Modi talks about federalism and dreams of making Hindi as link language. He will be making the same mistake as Narasimha Rao and taking the Central Government on the wrong path. It will be more appropriate if Prime Minister's office have language specialists and send Central Government Notes, Orders, Circulars, Memoranda to various states in regional languages and make Central Government nearer the common man.
