Fly from Arunachal, Mr Modi

I humbly suggest to Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi to take off from Arunachal Pradesh  for his forthcoming visit to China. Several people may scream- “ undiplomatic” / “aggressive” / “undesirable” / “provocative” …… and what not. Those voicing these thoughts would do well to remember that it was the Chinese who took a provocative, undesirable, aggressive, undiplomatic step by intruding in to Indian territory during President Xi’s visit last year.
By declaring above intent, India will make a point- Arunachal is not negotiable. At the most, the visit may need to be called off. That would not make any difference. The Chinese are hardly interested in any settlement. They are only trying to mislead us into believing that they want a negotiated settlement.
Chinese have increased their military budget significantly by 10 % targeting US $ 144 billion. Against this India has increased only by 7.9 %. Moreover, Indian military budget is only one third of Chinese. Their intentions are clear.
They have taken aggressive posture with regard to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, South China Sea and India. What else remains ?
Frequently, Chinese government officials issue warning to Indian leader’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh.  Need of the hour is for India to assertively communicate that Indian territory is not negotiable.
What better way than to fly from Arunachal and make it the landing point on return !

Comment There has been a method in PM's foreign policy and results are now showing. India has been inducted in MCTR (Missile Control Technology Regime) and is knocking for entry into NSG (Nuclear Suppliers Group). All this is being achieved in the face of hurdles put forth by China. The ultimate crown in foreign policy would be to gain entry into Security Council of the UN. Mr Modi is young ,energetic and appears to be a man with vision.
