Bengal has given good planners and economists. But unfortunately, governance in Bengal has cared little about economic principles. Over the last few decades West Bengal has fallen into economic and industrial morass because of several reasons. Out of which the glaring example is caring little about economic principles.
Since decades all shades of politicians have played politics with transportation services fares, whether it is tram, bus, taxi, scooter or rail. In the interest of the state this must stop. Every service has running and maintenance cost.
I shudder whenever I think how politicians of Bengal dare play politics with economic laws with respect to transpotation service charges! This state of affairs can not continue if Bengal has to survive.
For God's sake let economic laws rule service charges of all modes of transport. Dirty politics must stop.
