I was walking down the lane,
something caught my attention,
it was acute suffering and pain,
that I saw in the eyes of the man
who was handicapped, beggar and insane.
I asked his name,
he forwarded his open hands,
without hesitation, without shame.
With dejected and helpless look
he managed to pretend a smile
and say 'I don't have a name, madam.
I am just destiny's game.'
I dropped a penny on his palm,
his eyes glistened as he blessed me,
I was shocked to see his stature!
Barely breathing and yet so calm,
a victim of curse and blasphemy,
called as burden and useless sham,
happy to receive life as penny!!
He had no knowledge of the world,
yet he taught me a great lesson,
by his woven lips and immolated dreams,
by his dry tears and silent screams.
a helpless victim for the rich,
beggar for the world and king of his niche!
