In my world of nouns
she ruffles her hair behind the ears
and spreads magic in her smiles;
Flowers she loves
and bars me to pluck even one,
and whispers, ‘If you love them,
just love, do not deflower please…’
In the world of nouns
loveliness comes down in monsoon showers
the morning prayers are said in chirrup of the birds,
men guard the fort and women rule the heart
In my world of nouns
I shall keep my eyes aside
and enjoy the beauty through hers
to disprove
and not hold on to the adage,
‘Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.’
In my world of nouns
the ears shall filter out the untruths,
lips shall be no resting place for lies
and shall reverberate with songs of love
In my world of nouns
how shall I view Him?
Is He the sky, the ocean,
the woods and the mountain?
Is He the tree, the bud and the flower,
the bumble bee, the butterfly
and every strand in the spider’s web-
Inch-by-inch the earth to beautify!
