Love wants a response.
Always.
Parental love may not want anything in return.
Because parents live through their children.
Seeking eternity
parents give birth.
So their expectations are entwined
in bringing forth their children to this earth.
Sibling love,
metamorphosed sometimes to rivalry,
are love for their parents,
their origin,
their urge to live on.
Any other love demands reciprocation.
Unreciprocated,
it denies its unworthiness
in mental wound,
which can lead to hatred;
sometimes intense,
so intense,
that it can be tragic.
Love not accepted
is giving way to one's worthlessness,
accepting defeat.
Love me or love me not,
I shall keep on loving you
has no meaning.
It is some kind of negating life.
One must vacate a space
that does not promise growth.
Unrequited love
should be discarded,
for life is love,
love is growth,
and growth is nature of life.
