At some point in the present, I am certain,
the penny will drop. Now, much as before,
life carries on apace, in peace, or war:
the papers spread it evenly around;
the cameras, time travellers; and sound
that lassoes with its globe-encircling wavelength
civilisations; nothing questions how:
get on with it -- or rather, moving on
it does, and we our fine adjustments make
to fit; watch it take shape, as we reflect
on it, in the short or long-term of life;
and earth's suspension the time span to break
even of our expectations in respect
of history - the penny dropped - belief.
