What once was
is no more'

The hour glass
has settled it all
the pain
the sting
the commotion'

Each grain of sand
as it fell
buried the emotion
in moments
in days
in wisdom'

The skin covered
the cut
flesh filled the wound
soul ripened
in pain
nerves got benumbed'

A lesson learned
a breath revived
a hope returned'

For the cycle to go on
the hour glass needed
to be turned'
