Poly-tical Leaders!!

Not so long ago,
Proud we were of men,
Who were selfless leaders,
And fearless crusaders.

Who donated their everything,
For the rebirth of our nation,
Etched are they in our hearts,
Proud are we to have them
In our thoughts.

More often than not,
The present day leaders haunt,
With their utter greedy needs,
And unscrupulous deeds.

With their lust for power,
And power to project,
Money to muzzle,
And muscle to throttle.

Shameless to the core,
Sacrifices to the yore,
Repugnant are they,
Poignant are we.
