Life's Pathways

In the labyrinth of my mind

lies hidden images of sins

playfully conjured

so as to pre-empt

any sin that is usually committed all around

for unknown reasons.

I am so afraid all the time,

less the delicately balanced

apple-cart of life gets tumbled

for unknown apparitions.

Must living be painful?

Must one go through

disliked pathways?

Must one commit

and not run away

from the crossroads

less he be called irresponsible,

a coward, not performing one’s duty?
