Theme: Companionship

You

I searched you
In the highs
And lows
Of life

But found you
In the mediocrities
Of life

Sailing with me
In the tides of time
Making life
A wee bit
Easier for me :)

Dear Flame Ji,

This seems to be a different poem from the one I googled out.

Amazingly, that also has the same title: Deliverance

Maybe, Gurudev wrote 2 different poems with the same title, like we all do....sometimes our poems are different, but our titles over-lap.

Thank you so much for sharing another wonderful creation of this 'once in a lifetime' gifted poet.

Dear Aparnaji

Namaskar
In this poem , The great poet asks those people who want to see God meet him among the hard working masses. He likes to be with them.He prefers mediocrities, not the high-up This word in your poem touched upon my soul and reminded me of the Great Poet.Surely , your poems have mystic savor like great artistes in the world. I enjoyed it Thank you

Original Poem of Gurudeo Tagore

Deliverance?
Where is this deliverance to be found?
Our master himself has joyfully taken upon him the bonds of creation;
he is bound with us all for ever.
Come out of thy meditations and leave aside thy flowers and incense!
What harm is there if thy clothes become tattered and stained?
Meet him and stand by him in toil and in sweat of thy brow.

Dear Madhav Ji,

Thank you for your Review.

As I've been a student of Psychology, having done my graduation and post-graduation in the same subject (a study which took me 5-6 years), I haven't had much exposure to the literature of these great stalwarts.

Sorry to say, but till date, I didn't read Tagore's Deliverance.

You mentioned it. I googled it out. Wonderful lines....

http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=IproIa_rIv8C&pg=PA297&lpg=PA297&dq=deliverance+poem+by+tagore&source=bl&ots=FpwuX8fm_X&sig=lt-0xxgVmjuyofotZB0Tgp4V4ic&hl=en&sa=X&ei=f7zxT-3TK6eo0QXC89j0DQ&sqi=2&ved=0CGAQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q&f=false

But don't know why you related it to my lines. He writes so different from me.

I'm nowhere near him nor can I be at par with him. Such blessed souls are born once in a millennium.

You are not the first one who has found traces of Tagore in my work. I've heard the same from others too....like Bharat Mehru, and it amazes me.

On the contrary, having listened to some of Tagore's and Nazrul's songs, I've always loved the latter, for reasons unknown to me....
