The Minister spoke slowly, in rebuttal
to a remark someone sitting there
had made: 'The facts prove otherwise,' and subtle
as ever, implied he was simply where
the facts were, an impregnable redoubt,
whose profile fitted, a conceding smile
directed inwards, the light shining out
of visionary hue, suffice the while
if not the hour, which never is completed;
but words proved relative that for their goal
a paradise on earth appoint, depleted
eventually; but that, within the soul
of every man, there is such hope that each
equates with life itself, and must achieve;
for life is fact, elusive, none can reach
save through living, dying, if it deceive.
