January
     new year’s wishes
     sprout between the
     concrete slabs

February
     spring day
     spots of rosiness
     in the bud

March
     spring dream
     a rooster stirs the stillness
     into dawn

April
     spring’s end
     my infant fingers
     the fallen petal

May
     summer dawn –
     the path of cowries
     beyond the sea

June
     cloud pause
     her camera lens clicks
     the beach dawn

July
     summer ends
     the wallah takes down
     the raincoat array

August
     autumn sky -
     patches of twilight
     in the falling leaf

September
     autumn dawn -
     mother serves white rice
     on an almond leaf

October
     ice box ...
     your last word
     resonates in me

November
     winter rain
     the urge to feel
     the newborn

December
     new year's eve
     rangoli patterns
     in the street
