Our Moon

moonlight2.jpg
Bare feet
walking on the silky sands of a seashore,
I pick up a coiled conch!
Holding it against my ear.
I can hear your calligraphed name
midst howls of the frothy waves
echoing against its spiral walls
caged since countless centuries.

I remember that clear cloudless night -
when our luminary moon floated like a wrinkled platter
in the saline sea and
moon beams swam with us
stark-naked in the star-lit bubbly waters.
Glittering stars stood vigil
without batting their silver eyelids,
while we imbibed our champagne moon
cupped in the goblet of our crystal palms
and licked the very last drop of
the silvery concoction!

Our moon’s beaming smile
turned into tears of separation
while we rode the sleep-weary waves and ebbing tides!
Our moon’s faint footprints
imprinted on the wet sands
took a walk on the silky shores of inebriate dreams
and swooned on the
moonstone oyster-bed, afar…
