I have tried hard
to discover solitude
but it remains elusive
My intelligence
however limited
constantly propels
my finite mind
towards the infinity of space
Hopping
from one thought to another
potent, pathetic
oscillating, resolute
pondering, perplexed
serene, agitated
sweet, sour
passionate, enraged
within the known and unknown
realms of ideas
that constantly mingle
in the eternal circle
Untiring is the phenomenon
Yet unruffled remains the witness
to this incredible marvel
of pristine amusement
I cannot let go
this singularity of life
where I experience
the essence of freedom
in the association
of your perpetual presence.

I understand the struggle to reach the elusive , perhaps that search is the core that gives meaning to life, it is the search for.the absolute truth.. At least to me. I believe that truly knowing yourself , is the right path. Powerful and challenging poem. Love. Pili

"I have tried hard/ to discover solitude..." the perpetual quest which leads to nowhere and everywhere, to all and nothing, to the mind and mindlessness. I sense the mystic notes and the intellectual space. Thank you for these lines.

Solitude you seek is the power to detach the mind form this world and progress to higher realms. Mind is the enemy that won't let go of maya or the illusion that is this world. As you say, it keeps,"Hopping from one thought to another..." Just a passing comment also inspired by the teachings of Kabir and other great saints.!

Who is the witness and whose perpetual presence do you feel? I have been wondering. Is it Solitude or is it God? Someone commented that the poem has a Tagore flavour. If it were Tagore, I am almost sure that Solitude and God would be synonymously used.
A good poem.

This is unique and also incomparable in so far as it provides an unconventional answer to a riddle. It is very thought provoking. Expressed so simply without any so-called poetic gimmick, its appeal is direct. And the choice of words couldn't be better. It helped me to discover a new Rajender! Hope to see him more often in this new incarnation.

Your poem exudes sense of those moments which are very elusive to catch by human mind. Sir, I commit a mistake by giving my pinion on your poem which is to simply see and enjoy silently. The Image of the man seated in meditation before the roaring sea waves deepens the meaning of your poem .I think that symbolizes your mind at present. Thanks for a good poetic treat

Its a wonderful poem on the theme of solitude. The final effect is so positive : "in the association of your perpetual presence" although this prosaic word 'association' might have been avoided. Yes , it is true that that essence of freedom is realised only in such an ambience. The image is also suitable to the poem. It makes a happy reading for all of us.
