Destinations

The aircraft landed
(The destination… yet to be reached)
After a 24-hour transit
On the runway,
A result of my miscalculated itinerary!
Or some other reason?
My second visit to the small desert town
In the late evening
The taxi-driver was there
To receive me, my country-cousin,
With a wide smile on his face
Another commonality between the two of us
That when we smile our teeth shine
Besides, we are here to earn;
He by plying a taxi
Me by employing words
Mine is full of words
His drives are speechless
Only the wheels are moving
With speed leaving trails
On the sands of time
Like my words move on…
On boards and notebooks
Making roads in
Unseen destinations.
