Reins taken over rose from sentiment’s grave
At stake nation’s pride, rob us of little we have
With little knowledge of our culture and care,
Started to rule, as spectators we learnt to bear
Praiseworthy is the tolerance and gratitude
Paid tribute giving a mandate as a substitute
Our culture’s reflection at the cost of vision
Speaks of our heritage as a truly caring nation
After all what was owned, to actually give?
Is this the real way to repay a nation’s love
Hangover of the emptied bottles and glasses
Mounting earnings and erased criminal cases
Continuing in office for the longest tenure
Oldest office ridiculed, has turned impure
The chair once occupied by leaders gigantic
Left us all as puppets of this western magic
